We are continuing with the OSRS Recipe for Disaster subquests but this time we will be freeing Skrach Uglogwee from the spell cast by the Culinaromancer. Now let’s talk about how you can free Skrach Uglogwee? And complete this OSRS RFD Freeing Skrach Uglogwee quest.

To be able to free Skrach Uglogwee you need to feed him a cooked jubbly bird, which is the most delicious type of Chompy in the Feldip Hills. Also, you need someone who is experienced in caching jubbly birds. You can ask the ogre Rantz from the OSRS Big Chompy Bird Hunting quest to help you.

Quest and Skill Requirements

For the OSRS Recipe for Disaster – Freeing Skrach Uglogwee quest, you need to have only one quest completed and that is the Big Chompy Bird Hunting quest. The skills needed for the OSRS RFD Freeing Skrach Uglogwee quest are:

Starting Point

As always to start this quest go to the Lumbridge Castle dining room, inspect Skrach Uglogwee and Gypsy will appear to tell you that you can free Skrach Uglogwee by giving him a cooked jubbly bird. After you ask Gypsy how to get the jubbly chompy, he will tell you that the only one who can help you is Rantz.

Make your way to the Feldip Hills (either by Feldip hills teleport or fairy ring code aks or via Gnome glider) and talk to Rantz. He will tell you that he wants to travel to Karamja to make some type of potion, but before that, he wants you to meet him south-east of his cave.

Go southeast towards the transportation sign and there you will find Rantz, talk to him again, and go through the dialogue. He will kick over a tree and ask you to make it into a boat. Use your axe on the fallen tree twice to make a boat, talk to Rantz again and he will shoot an arrow to a tree on Tai Bwo Wannai village in Karamja.

OSRS Recipe for Disaster - Freeing Skrach Uglogwee

Teleport to Tai Bwo Wannai village and run west to the coastline, near the transportation sign you will see a small tree with an arrow inside of it. Stand next to the tree and light your logs, use an iron spit on a raw chompy then use it on the fire and this will trigger a cutscene.

Hunting a Jubbly Bird

If you are successful you will see Rantz’s kids take the boat to you and take you back. Talk to Rantz and he will tell you to make a balloon toad use as bait, to catch the Jubbly bird. Go west to the nearest small swamp (the same swamp from the Big Chompy Bird Hunting quest), and start making three bloated toads.

Fill your Ogre bellows up with swamp water and use it on a toad to get a bloated toad. When you’re done fill your Ogre bellows again and head north until you see a mining sign. Mine the same amount of rocks as you have toads when you have the rocks use your filled Ogre bellows on the bloated toad to make a balloon toad.

Go east until you reach the quest sign and place your balloon toads on the darker area (on your minimap) south of the quest sign. Now you need to walk a little bit away from the trap but you must see it, wait until the Jubbly bird appears. If it doesn’t appear, you’ll have to get another balloon toad.

When it appears, kill it with your ogre bow. Then pluck it, take the meat, and cook it on Rantz’ ogre spit. Go back to Lumbridge Castle and then carefully right-click and use the cooked jubbly on Skrach Uglogwee.
